Hey All,

 I had my ressection around 3 weeks ago... and developed a red spot 2 inches below my insision.. saw the surgeon and they said we will watch it...uhggg.. then he finally did a swab of my insision and it showed 2 different types of bacteria growth..that the doctor says I more than likely picked up in the hospital...and the red spot turned into a hard lump... finally they have just put me on antibiotics...has anyone else had this happen...it is making me real nervous...especially since im on Immuran

I had that once, it ended up being a stitch that ended up finally poking thru my belly. First it was that lump thing, then it broke open and kept draining and wouldn't heal, I went to the dr. and he deadened that area with lydocaine and took a instrument that looked like a knitting tool with hook on end, anyway dsr dug around hurt like hell and him digging around was very unnerving, and sure enough he pulled out stitch sniped it off and healed up, it happened two different times

I had two sutures that never healed. To make a long story short, I saw a different surgeon 18 months later. He was able to remove one in the office (no local) and it healed. With that successful outcome he tried to do the other several weeks later but was unable to and I had to have it done at the hospital. It also healed after the suture was removed.

I have had infections in my incisions for both of my resections. Mine had to be totally reopened and packed with wet/dry packings daily. It had to close from the bottom up. I think I got my infections because I did not do a prep before either resection. JMHO
