Anyone experience night sweats post surgery? It's been 9 days now and I am still having them. The nurses said I was diuresing at the hospital but it's been over a week now. I am on percoset every 5-6 hours. I wonder if that is it? I wonder if there is a way to avoid it because it really interrupts my sleep and makes me so uncomfortable.

I did the same thing for several weeks. I have no idea why it happened.

I've had night sweats off and on for 40 years, as long as I've had crohns

I had surgery last Friday, and last night was the first night I didn't have a fever and night sweats, so I completely understand.
Does your prescript
ion for percocet have acetaminophen in it? It might be (as was the case with me) that you're breaking a mild fever because of the tylenol in the pain meds. I tried to move when I took pain meds so I broke the fever before I went to sleep, instead of while I was sleeping.
I hope things get better for you, and you continue to heal well!

What all did you have done monkiray? How are you feeling? You're still in the hospital, right?
Yea, I have been checking and do not seem to have a fever.

The pain medicine always gave me the sweats after surgery.
When I stopped taking them the sweats stopped.

Had my gallbladder taken out...FINALLY! (It was causing symptoms for about
1 1/2 years, but just now showed stones on tests) It was done laparoscopically, so I went home the same day. I'm feeling pretty good, finally feeling like I have energy again. I only took pain meds the first 5 days. The last couple nights I've taken darvocet because towards the end of the day I've been a little achey. I tend to push myself a bit though, so that's probably why I'm sore. I walk around my cul-de-sac a lot, and try to move as much as I can because I have had blood clots. But surgeon just said no lifting over 30 pounds for the next 6 weeks, so I haven't been doing anything I shouldn't.
Oh, meant to tell you also, I've noticed that when I take pain meds, when they hit my system, I get hot all of the sudden. It doesn't matter what kind, or what dose, it happens every time. Maybe that's another possibility?

Oh, your gall bladder! Well, at least it was a one day sort of thing and not a resection. I've heard they can make you miserable when they flare up though.
I've never had pain meds make me sweat or give me hot flashes, so I just don't know. Perhaps I am running a very low grade fever that is breaking at night. I also have thyroid issues and have heard your thyroid can go nuts after surgery. With major surgery, a lot is going on. If it doesn't get better next week, I'll call the doc and ask them.

I had night sweats post surgery. I believe it was caused by the Prednisone they had me on..
