I applied for Social security Disablity in May and was turned down. I don't think the interviewer understood my disease. I have crohns/colitis and a leaking fistula and have ceton drains. I can only work part-time because full time would tire me out. Right now I am looking for a job i can do, I am also hard of hearing. Does anyone know how to go about appealing my denile?

From what people have said on here you have better luck if you have a lawyer. I'm sure someone who has gone through this before will reply and have lots of answers for you. Best of luck and I hope you get approved if you try again!

my case was just allowed as of nov.18th. but because I'm on sdi until feb 18th of 11 I won't get my award until i go off sdi. binder and binder is my lawyers, they are the largest law firm they only handle disability claims. I was rubber stamped denial first time, was told that was normal, my denial said this. Because Ican still walk and move my arms freely I can work, we realize you have pain and discomfort. then came my reconsideration and binder sent me and my dr's questionaire and narrative report to fill out, after they got those my case was allowed, no rubber stamp. very bittersweet.

I recently applied for disability Sept 2010. I was denied and have since obtained a lawyer. I have filled out a work history form and a personal and health form. I also had to have a 3rd party formed filled out by a friend. I just last week started seeing doctors that the disability determination services have made me appointments with. I had to have a mental exam and this week I see a doctor about my Crohn's Disease. I am not sure if they will send me to a separate doctor for my arthritis. I have been told that this entire process could take years. Good luck to you :)

they never sent me to any dr except shrink, to make sure I had the mental capacity to understand what was what, mine took 9 months from start to finsih.
