Well so far so good. I;m home now and have a slight headache, and a bit tired, but ok.

I can say the expierence was good. The nurse was great. Chatted with a couple of nice ladies , watched a bit of tv.

So I can say to those of you who are going to go get the remicade done, breath, relax..the actually infusion isn't bad.

Glad it was ok for you, now you just need to wait a bit for inflammation to subside.

As I said in the prior topic, I would bring things to entertain myself. It's not very painful beyond the initial insertion of the IV. The main problem for me was boredom. I most frequently brought my laptop and watched a movie. If you don't have a laptop you can get a mini dvd player for very little money.

Where I went they would usually give me lunch as well. It was hospital food but I'm not very picky.

I sincerely hope it works for you. It certainly has helped a lot of us.

So glad to hear this & am curious how you'll feel tomorrow. I have a busy week next week and am hoping I'm up to speed.

I talked to the infusion nurse this afternoon & she was so nice, very reassuring.

How long were you there? Did they give you benadryl?

They gave me benadryl at first but after a while they stopped. My nurses were great as well. They all knew me by name as I was in there for so long. We would share pictures of our kids. It was an overall good experience.

I don't remember having any adverse feelings after the infusion. I generally started to feel better after a few days. It took a while for it to build up so I wouldn't expect that at first, but once it's in your system the infusions start having a pretty quick relief effect.

Feeling ok today, don't feel anything new from getting the remi, but then again I just woke up. Sleep was ok, I have a hard time sleeping anyways, so that's nothing new. I did find that for the first few hours after trying to sleep that every ping, twang, and twitch, i would fully wake up and think...oh..is that from the remi? But then it would go away and I would start to dose off again, until the next twitch. My mind races alot, and I tend to over think things.
My hand is ok too, had a bit of brusing from the iv( Which hurt by the way since ppl have a hard time finding my viens and my hands don't have allot of meat on them) but this morning the brusing is gone. Got alot of gas, but again that is nothing new for me. I will take it easy today.
I was there for 3 1/2 hours. The actual infusion only took me 2 1/2 but by law ( here in canada anyways) they have to keep you there for an extra hour so they can watch you for any abnormal reaction.
Nope, no benadryl. I was told though , if i feel sick or get the aches , hives...I can take gravol, or tylenol, or my pain killers.
I am hoping by the next infusion ( in 2 weeks) that things will start to feel better.
I did bring my laptop,mp3 player, and since there was only 3 of us there, had a nice chat with the girls and the nurse ( whom was sooooo nice)

I knew all would be okay! I think we stress ourselves out so much beforehand worrying about the what if's etc that no matter what anyone says until we experience it and see its not a problem we continue to worry. Here's hoping for a long remission and success with Remicade for you. I seems to take a few infusions for some to notice a difference. Hugs!

I have movies on my phone as well as internet access and they have free WiFi there.  But......it is a long day for me, I go on my way home from work, I 12 hour night shift.  I worry about getting sleepy, so I am pretty chatty with the nurse and some of the others who come in for infusions.
