harley, your thread is a little vague, do have you had any surgery? small bowel or colan area or both? cd is weird disease to be sure. you can't always go by bloodwork or scope, pain is pain, symptoms are symptoms, I would be a little uncomfortable with your current dr's. I'm on rem and vicodin for pain. For me as long as I don;t feel like could obstruct, I want a decent quality of my life, I told my gi on monday, if I have to take a few vic's a day to eat and rest properly and get some weight back on, then I will, I take 5-500 strength vic's. those are not real strong, Ijust want to be somewhat comfortable, good luck harley

i can say give it a chance...so far so good for me, i am going for my 3rd dose in a couple of weeks, and other than being tired for a couple of days and a wicked ass headache the day after i feel wayyyyy better. No more pain in the bum!!!

Thats such bull! Is the colonoscopy the only test that they have done? What about a small bowel follow thru? Or an upper GI? A colonoscopy can only see the large intestine and the first couple inches of the small. Crohn's can be located in any area from the mouth to the anus. Just because you have some "patchy areas" doesn't mean it can't be located in the small intestine or stomach. Also, if you have some patchy areas, that means that you are active, NOT in remission. I would go back to the first GI or get another opinion. If you have the option of calling around, interview the GI, asking how much experience he has with crohn's. Just because they are a GI, doesn't mean they have experience, it just means they probably studied it, at one time, in school. I wish I had heeded my instincts about my last GI. His office was full of elderly patients, and each one seemed to be getting scheduled for a scope. I think that was the main focus of his practice, because I felt I was educating HIM on crohn's and different meds. I'm in the process of looking for a new one now, and believe me, I'm asking lots of questions!

sounds almost like he mixed you up with another patient. Patchy cd is not remission. Could be more in another area.
