New Methyltrexate user should i do pills or injection?

Hi still new to all of this.  I am learning so much from all of you. Thank you! 

 I started taking methyltrexate 15mg, two weeks ago and I am wondering if there is an advantage to taking it by injection?

I started out with the pills, but had a major issue with nausea.  The doctor then switched me to injections.  This helped with the nausea.  Good Luck!!

We had a member whose Dad started on the pills and had the same issues as MaggieLou with nausea. Switched to the injections, and the side effects were much improved. Good luck!

Definitely do the injections. Less gastro side effects and better absorption.

My hubby started  on the injections as he has short bowel syndrome as well as sensitive stomach.  4th week and doing well.

My Rheumy said you have less side effects with the injection but I don't like needles so I'm trying the pills. I've only been on it for 4 weeks so no side effects yet.

Rheumy started me on the pills, which hurt my stomach, so we switched to injections.  GI was a little mad that we had started out on pills anyway...said there was no reason to do them when they had more side effects.  Didn't have any side effects to the shots other than elevated liver enzymes, so I had to stop taking it.

Thank you all! I will be asking to switch to injections. I am starting to feel better! Don't know what to give credit to since i am doing Pentasa, methyltrexate, prednisone and have had my first Remicade infusion. I just hope I continue to feel better! Second infusion is Monday, after the first I was tired and had a dull headache but it was all tolerable.... and i no longer have diarrhea. I do not miss the 20x a day!
