I have been in a symptomatic remission for most of the last 13 years. I just had to have a resection, but it was due to adhesions and scar tissue from previous resections, not active disease. So my combo of medications are working to keep the DD away. It is possible to live a great life. You just have to find the right balance of medications to help you. I had a pretty rough start, but I still managed to have fun with my family and enjoy life in between my bad times. Have some patience and some faith. Its possible.

Last scope 3/1 and CT scan showed no active crohn's at the moment. Scope 2 years ago showed show ulcers and inflammation. I have not had any intestinal problems since I started Hunira @ 3 years ago. Just recently have been having ????gallbladder issues. I do believe you can achieve remission. Praying that everyone can experience a remission.

I was in remission for 7 years until flare up last autumn that was caused by going med free. Never again!

I once enjoyed a nearly 20 year remission, so it is possible. I also am currently in remission and have been for awhile. You will get there once they figure out the right treatment for you. We also have to figure out the right diet for "us". I hope you can reach remission soon. Hugs!

I hope you are right Nanners.
Right now I don't see any hope. And its hard to see that I will have anything but pain and suffering. I read so many post and blogs that I'm really scared what the future will hold I know there is a wide spectrum of mild to severe but its looks like it always starts mild and continues to escalate.
Thanks for all your posts.
My heart and mind goes out to you all.

The one thing you MUST remember as you are doing all of your researching, is that the majority of people who have CD are not on the internet posting their stories or looking for support. You are reading the stories of the people who are at the worst end of the spectrum, or those of us who have been there, done that and just want to offer some hope. Most people who have Crohn's are taking their maintenance medication every day and living their life. They don't really give it much thought except to keep an eye on what they eat and take their meds. The worst time is when you are just diagnosed and are looking for the right combination of medications to get you into remission. Also keep in mind that you don't know how long the disease has been lurking and doing damage, so it might take some time to get things under control.
For me, I went undiagnosed for 10 years and there was a ton of damage done. It took another 10 years to undue that damage, but I was able to have a pretty good life still during that time, and I have had a great time since then.

Is it even possible to heal those ulcers and lesions in the intestines and how ??
I understand not all the good cases will be online because most are living there lives but I have met a few in person and non are doing well.
I think at this point I need some answers and maybe then with the right combination of medications I might have help. I'm just scared that my gi will put me on remicad right away instead if trying other alternatives. Around here the Drs tend to push the stuff really fast and I'm scared

I have a coworker with Crohns and you would never know he had the disease, looks like a perfectly normal person. Now as far as meds go, some docs like to be more aggressive with meds, in order to get things back under control quickly. You can tell your doc you would like to try 6mp/Imuran first. Many have had alot of success with those. Some members have been on them for over 10 years or longer. Don't lose hope, there is a right med for you. Hugs!

Thanks Nanners.
This condition is so scary. Now i'm waiting for a capsule endoscopy scheduled for next week. Just picked up my colyte today what a big bottle. Thank god he only wnats me to take 2 litres of it instead of 4. Whoof.
Lets hope I feel better soon, I've lost so much weight over the past few months that its really scary.
