Starting 6MP again

I saw my GI and the colorectal doctor today. SO..Here's the break down. The reason remicade wasn't working for me was because I just wasn't responding to it anymore. I don't have antibodies. I actually had an amazing serum level. I had 10.5 after 12 weeks which is great. So clearly I had no antibodies, just wasn't responding to it. We decided to try 6MP after two miserable years without it. My lymph nodes started swelling while on it but then resided while off of it. However, with the shape I'm in currently, I'm willing to take that risk again. I can't live like this anymore. I'm not too thrilled about the dosage at 125 mg. That's a strong amount of 6MP. I don't like how I have to wait 3-4 months for it to become therapeutic though.

I also saw the colorectal surgeon about my abscess. Turns out it was indeed a fistula. Yay! Another fun thing to deal with. -__- He wants to put in a seton stitch until the 6MP starts to kick in. Does this cause a lot of discomfort to anyone? Gahhhh..hopefully the 6MP will bring me back to a normal life.

Not going to lie, dude. But I got 2 seton stitches inserted about 11 days ago and it's uncomfortable as hell. My surgeon said it's all part of the healing process though and that some people respond quicker, pain wise.

Yesterday I was in agony and had to to the the A&E (ER) luckily my surgeon that did the procedure happened to be there, he looked at, took bloods to check for infection, no infection, gave me pain meds and told me to come see him next week.

Pain meds help but I'm still walking like a cowboy, lol. Hopefully your seton won't be as sore as mine is/was. (Not to bad today)

No idea about your blood works. But make sure your doc gives you a script for a strong painkiller, I've just started taking tramadol and my God what a miracle. I can finally walk proper now and can barely feel the pain. I wish I had of got them sooner. lol.
