Hi guys!
I thought I should finally introduce myself. I'm Elisa; age 20; Crohn's for about 5 years. I am a full-time student finishing my sophomore year majoring in Game Art. I have always lived with health issues since a young age. At the age of 3, I was diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency and have been taking injections for it ever since. When I reached middle school, I was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency and hypothyroidism. When I hit high school, I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia and photosensitive epilepsy. A year later and 40 pounds lighter, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease.
Anyways
So this weekend was pretty bad for me in terms of health. I developed a cold that suppressed my immune system just enough to
have my Crohn's flare up so badly that I was in the ER from friday morning to just a few hours ago. The doctors upped my dose of pentasa to 4g a day, 80 mg of cortef, and then omeprazole. The group of GIs talked a tiny bit about considering Biologics because I keep getting flare ups every month even with increasing my pentasa dosage. My question is what are they, like injections or transfusion? And then have people had mainly good experiences with them? I'm hoping these can work for me because being in pain is just no fun.
