Is it just me but I didn't make it to the bathroom at least 8 times. When I would feel a cramp or a weird feeling coming on, I would run to the bathroom but not get there in time. 

 I spent hours doing laundry, and cleaning in between all that other stuff. My daughter seemed concerned that I couldn't make it.  Maybe it's the fact that I'm 63 years old and my muscles arent's strong anymore.  I just could not believe it!!  Did anyone else have this problem??  I was even awakened from a sound sleep and didn't make it that time either I'm embarrassed to admit mad

I think it has happened to all of us at one time or another. I am just getting over a resection surgery and had to wear a sanitary pad to bed every night for weeks, just in case. And I hadn't taken any of that foul liquid and I am a bit younger. So don't be so hard on yourself. Your body was going through a distressing time, it was being assaulted by PREP, the most evil of evils.

Not just you sweetie.. I stayed home and did house work too that day. I changed cloths 4 times befor the end of the afternoon! I dont know weather to blame it on the laxative or the fact that you have to drink so much liquid that no one could hold it and! Whats the line from the Bucket List.. Never Trust a Fart! Well thats the Gods Honest Truth! Hee hee. Sorry you had to go thru it. Hugs

I don't expect to do anything while doing the prep. That's what it's for is to clean you out. I have even taken the next glass of prep and timer into the bathroom. Once it's done, it's done though and I've never had a problem during the night.

Don't be so hard on yourself and good luck with the colonoscopy.

I think I may have the world's second strongest sphincter muscle and I didn't make it last time from bed. Don't be upset about it my human friend.

It's possible, too, that the prep didn't agree with you. Some are harsher than others, and cause stronger cramping in some people. Maybe you could explain the problem to the doctor and ask if you could try a different, gentler, prep next time.

Thank you so much for making me feel better and not so embarrassed as I was. Ivy...yes.. It could be that the prep didn't agree with me.  I remember the moment I started drinking it I got a terrible headache that lasted the whole night.  I've been reading it can cause headaches.

Zanne, I hope you're feeling better after your surgery, and thanks for your kind words as well! 

 

The procedure was a breeze compared to the prep that's for sure.  The doctor sent something she saw for a biopsy but she said it was just a precaution.
