Starting 6MP - advice on what to expect

I'm about to start on 50mg of 6mp (in addition to weekly Humira).  Have you experienced any immediate side effects? My doctor warned me about possible nausea, told me to take it at night so won't bother me.  Are there any precaution or other things people do before they start? Thank you.

I never experienced any nausea. However, it did make my sleepy at first so taking it at night is a good idea. After a while though this side effect slowly went away after about a month.

I take 6mp and I notice that I get fatigued very easily as well. I didn't notice any symptoms from the 6mp right away but over time, I do think I urinate more often while on 6mp. It can get annoying, I was waking up in the middle of the night to pee often and that probably contributed to my fatigue. Overall, I think it helped ease my UC symptoms but it caused my blood counts to drop very low.

I have been on 6MP for over 13 years. I have never noticed any side effects. I do take it at night now, but I didn't always. I get my blood work done regularly and sometimes they are off. But that seems to be my "normal". They can be redone and be right back in the normal range, sometimes the next day. So my doctor isn't too concerned about it. If they ever stay high for extended periods of time, I guess we will have to have a discussion. But for now, it is the main drug that has finally gotten my CD under control.
