Hmm sore 4 days after seton stitch?

Hey guys. I had my seton stitch placed in on Friday. I was doing great, but today my behind is feeling pretty sore. Is that normal? I would imagine that I would have been sore right after, not four days later. I also def don't like the constant leaking, I would think by now that they would have a better solution for darn fistula.

hey bb....my seton has been in since march 18th for an abcess and fistula... the first week was unconfortable....there was swelling and some minor drainig and pain. that went away within the first week...keeping the area clean with tons of sitz baths was really helpful. good luck bro

Thanks man, I need to get on those sitz baths. Just really busy since finals are right around the corner!

My soreness lasted a long time. Remember, you have a wound down there.

D'you think you could describe "sore" a little more for us? Is it sore on the surface, or inside? Does it feel hot?

It's like a outside/inside soreness. It's getting better throughout the day. It feels so weird when I feel gas pass through the fistula as well. Not painful, just a funny feeling!

Hi,

I had my seton stitch put in February. It did hurt for a few weeks, but it was kind of a wound pain. Then, two month after an initial surgery it started to hurt from inside. Unfortunately that pain was from another abscess forming (outside wound was closed around seton too soon). So, another surgery and one more seton.

I don’t want to frighten you, just advice you to closely monitor the pain and any new hard spots around there. The sooner they are detected, the better.

Btw. I see you are from Bosnia. I am form Serbia.
