I had that happen when I was on the Fentanyl Transdermal patch the doctors cut my dose down slowly but the first few days without it were the worst...probably didnt help That I still had a draining fistula and was visiting my ailing grandmother at the time in the hospital who passed soon thereafter. I had also been on oral meds for breakthrough pain at the time and had stopped that before cutting off the fentanyl. I am now on Percoset and get that filled for my pain I still have at that time my breakthrough pain meds were dilaudid (4mg). I am lucky though days I dont have pain (severe that is) I take none of my meds instead I try and stick with tylenol and my hyomax...yesterday was just a tylenol day =) today not so much. It is tough I would call your doc inform them of the issue and go with what nanners said cut down slowly it does help...and the crappy withdrawal symptoms do go away some of them faster than others.
hugs
Forgot to add my pain meds were epidural in the hops etc with fentanyl there and I had the 1st surgery Feb 2007 2nd 1 week later then about 5 months later yet another surgery...then in Jan 2008 another so I was on them for quite some time (the really heavy duty meds) They tried oxycontin with me but the time release is not optimal for me as they dont stay in me long enough to work
