Folliculitis?

after i was diagnosed with crohns i had my gi look at a sore of some sort on my ass afraid it might be a fistula or something. i've had it there for three years. said it was not one, and said he was pretty sure it was Folliculitis and there wasn't really much i could do. and that when it does get infected and fill up with puss he can prescribe antibiotics to get it to heal faster but unless it was frequently bothering me it was better just to manage because the other option would be to cut it open but sometimes that just makes it worse.

it's been bothering me more the past couple weeks for an unknown reason, but isn't white or filled with puss or anything that i can see. makes sitting kind of uncomfortable in a lot of situations so i started looking online about it. i'm wondering if it is not Folliculitis at all. i only have one, and its the size of a dime or maybe a penny. it seems like more folliculitis have a lot of much much smaller red bumps? and it sounds like they are treatable and can heal?

has anyone else ever had Folliculitis more like how i describe? or maybe i misunderstood the doctor and its something else that starts with an f? i was pretty sure he said it was inflammation of the hair follicle though which is what i searched to find Folliculitis and it sounded like what he had said in his office. he said it was not uncommon in crohns patients.

I've had it for three years and have pretty much been on prednisone since the end of october for my crohns with no improvement.. I'm only on 10mg now and should be trying to come off again on sunday, but i was on 70 solumedrol for about a month i think then 40mg of prednisone for a long time after that then tapered from there to 10. it seemed to get a little better about a month into i guess when i was on a high does and lots of antibiotics etc but it all just came back after that.
