How do I get rid of the metallic taste from Flagyl?

I have to take Flagyl for 10 days and I've been taking it for seven already but the nasty metallic taste in my mouth is driving me crazy. It doesn't matter what I eat or drink the taste is still there. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

Sorry to say, but I never could get rid of that metallic taste.  I had just learned to live with it while I was on flagyl.  I ended up with other issues with the flagyl that meant I had to stop taking it (tingling in the face and hands).

Hope someone else here found an answer for you.

The only way I got rid of it was that they cut the dose in half, and then I didn't feel so crapy on it.

I used those old fashioned lemon drops...they helped but didn't take it away:(

just carried jolly ranchers around with me and pop them in every so often...it does get better over time.

Anytime I have to take flagyl, I put some chocolate milk in my mouth, throw the flagyl in and then chase it down with more chocolate milk. I never taste it this way and there is no metallic taste either. I think the milk coats your taste buds.

I'm not good at taking pills but this is what I do. I put the pill under my tongue and flip it back with the tip of my tongue as I take a large mouthful of water. If I do it right, it doesn't hit the tastebuds that recognize the bitter flavor. Later when the Flagyl is dissolved in my stomach the taste always comes back. Saline nasal spray seems to get rid of it and I have no idea why. I discovered this by accident. Hope it helps someone smile
