Hi

Just wondering if find crohn's early on can make the prognosis better.

I have been just told by my doctor that the only thing he saw was small ulcerations in my ileum and everything else was clear. So he thinks I have early IBD.

I'm just so scared right now and wondering on if my prognosis will be better now that we have discovered it before any realy damage has settled in.

Any insight will help.

I'm not sure if this will be helpful, but my GI has said that Crohn's will show pretty early whether it will be aggressive or moderate. Moderate disease rarely becomes aggressive, and vice versa. My experience has certainly held to that.

Hi

I guess that is my dilemma we don't know if it will be mild or moderate at this point.

I am just hoping that since we found it early I might have a good prognosis.

I'm so scared.

It's not death sentence, remember that. Yes, when you flare you you feel crap, but you'll eventually get back to your old self. It will take time, but have patience. Just my experience.

Exactly my question. I have heard that you do have a better prognosis because they can help keep the inflammation from getting worse. I dont know too much about this as I am still not diagnosed. I have been having symptoms for a month and feel like I am dying were some people wait years and have severe inflamation but mild symptoms. I hope our prognosis is good and like everyone says it is not a death sentence and /i certainly know that feeling of doom and gloom as this is hard to deal with. I am here for ya' if you need to chat : )
