Hi im having some of my terminal illeum removed on 4th august im just wanting to no what happens aftet surgery and what to expect? really scarred and i dont no what to expect please if u have had this could you give me some information thank you.

Well first off once you recover you will be feeling much better. Not sure if you are having it via laproscope or full open, but either way, there will be some pain, but don't worry about it too much as they keep you covered well with pain meds. A few days afterward you will begin to have some explosive diarrhea, but that too will quiet down once your body adjusts to the changes. Mine only lasted about 3 weeks. You should try to stick with a low residue diet for awhile until you see how your body adjusts.

Best tips I can give you is to walk as much as possible. This will help your bowels to wake up and get things moving again. I am hoping and praying this surgery leads you to a long long remission. Hugs!

Hi there not sure how there operating yet as i am so bloated. Im 24 and have a 4year old so plenty of walking is no problem haha. I think im scarred cause im not sure wat to expect when i come out of surgery? he said its narrowed thats why im in constant pain am on no medication as its took them a while to sort me out. Have had lots of tests mri that was fine and ct scan was fine but colonoscopy was very painfull and showed inflamation and narrowing but biopsies was clear just glad im getting results just really scarred. Thank u for your comment.
