Tomorrow morning at 8:45 am I will be checking in for my cataract surgery.  I know its a minor surgery but I am still a bit nervous.  Normally you are giving a sedative and they proceed with the surgery.  But I am claustrophobic, plus don't want to know someone is cutting on my eye, so they will be doing it with general anesthesia.

I would sure appreciate you keeping my in your prayers and kind thoughts.  I won't be around until maybe later in the day.  So be good, and don't be surprised if you some UC mods visiting and helping out.

My grandmother had it done in both eyes. They knocked her out too but within a few days, her vision cleared up. You will be on a zillion eye drops! Or at least she was for a couple of weeks. Good luck and don't be nervous. It's a pretty common out patient surgery. I will be thinking of you! :)

You deserve some good luck and smooth sailing!!
Everyone I know that has had this surgery has come out of it so much better than when they went in.. so try to relax

Wishing you every bit of good luck on your eye surgery tomorrow.
My chocolate Labrador (7years old at the time) had bilateral cataract surgery with doggie style permanent implants. The surgery was done when his diabetes caused him to go from perfect vision to functionally blind in about 7 days. The afternoon after his surgery he could see well and the next morning he came home with lots of eye drops. He showed no signs of discomfort but did not like the drops much.
We are two years down the road and he is fine.
I think he would say to tell you it's a piece of cake... chocolate cake of course.

Good luck! My mom had both eyes done recently--one at a time--and had almost no pain and plenty of improvement to her vision. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.
