Been wondering how you are doing as the last update was just after christmas and you were not well. would love to hear how this year has been going for you

Hiya Lesley
How lovely to hear from you, I have been on here regularly snooping and checking out how people are doing but haven't posted in ages !!!!
I'm doing ok, only returned to work about five weeks ago on a phased return to work, lots of crohns related issues but it's too much to put on here !!! Lol
I'm remaining ever with the " blue sky thinking" and like everyone else on these pages just trying to muddle along.
How are you ? How have things been for you ?
If I don't reply straight away don't think I'm ignoring you, I will reply it's just that now I'm back in work I'm shattered and seem to want to sleep all the time !!! Lol
I do need to post more though as I feel for everyone on here and find it's a great support for me and great that we're all in the same boat.

So very pleased to hear you are still a blue sky thinker - never doubted it for a moment haha.

Really good to hear you are back working albeit still with issues and shattered.

funny we are both on entocort - what are they planning to try you on next ?

As for me ...I was doing well on the FODMAP and no drugs but the stress of living it a city hit by over 7000 earthquakes in the past 9 months has played havoc with the crohns hence the entocort since feb.

to make things worse my beloved gp just retired (cheek of the man!) and my gastro specialist is sick himself (stress) so I am booked in to see a locum on 1 august. hope to convince him to support me trying LDN and have been following bosnian boy et al with interest.

Quite happy on entocort but my funding has run out :(

Sorry to hear about all those freaking earthquakes !!!!! I don't know what to say to you because sorry doesn't seem fit enough to say !!! But I'm not surprised that your stress levels have and are through the roof !!!!!!

Glad your doing well on the fodmap diet,and doing ok on the endocort.
Wow and excuse the pun but what a bummer with the gi and gp !!!!!

Well fingers crossed with the new by in august, hope it all goes well for you.

I would take up all the page with myself Lesley but all I'll say is that iv had a number of procedures over the last few months and am now going onto a biologic in the next few weeks.
Iv been on methotrexate since the new year and endocort since march 2010 and neither seem to be helping me enough.

Unfortunately I'm having lots of issues with fistula and all that area as well as inside !!!!! Lol

It's all sent to bloody try us !!! Isn't it !!! Apart from that I'm still trying to have some semblance of normality as much as I can and pushing through !!!!
I will endeavour to post more on here and I will keep in touch with you

LOL I guess our semblance of normality is light years from most peoples.

We talk about the 'new normal' in christchurch which includes not batting an eyelid when the whole building sways from side to side for 20 seconds which is does on a regular basis. One of the brighter notes is that as most of the roads and services were destroyed my side of town there is now a portaloo every hundred yards - great for crohnnies out trying to get some exercise ;P

bummer the methotrexate didn't help - fistulas are nasty wee things aren't they.

Do let us know how you go on the biologic ( which one are you trying?) Biologics are my next step too if I can't convince them to try me on LDN ( or Rifaximin).
