Hi! I have been looking for an active forum for a while now! I have a now 14 yr old son with Crohn's Disease. He was formally diagnosed at the age of 6 although he had his first flare at 11 months. He is on Sulfasalazine, Azathioprine, Omeprazole and Humira. He has had one resection so far although we find out next week if he needs another. Just thought it would be nice to chat to others with experience of the same disease!

Welcome Lisalou! You sound like you have a healthy approach to what can be a difficult problem, especially for a kid. I'm sorry he's been dealing with this for so long! I look forward to getting to know you on the forum.

Hi!  And Welcome!  I hope you find answers here...I know I did when I first joined and I enjoy new knowledge from here often.  We're all so different in ages, meds, historical treatments and side issues, that there is usually at least one person that can chime in with some personal experience on a matter.

I found my way here when son was diagnosed at 16(now 18) and fortunately no surgeries yet!

Hi! *waves* I am not really looking for answers.... at the mo anyway! More just friends that I can talk to about bowels and poop and farts and loud noises, without getting looked at odd or getting the "eeeeeeewwww gross" thing! Also some that understand when my son is having a bad day I do turn into psyco mare from the firey pits until things get better again!

Where is everyone from? I am nr Brighton, Uk
