Hi Montana! Yes those kiddos! I'm actually on pred for my RA of all things at 10mg per day and only then did I discover after awhile of being on that my belly issues have felt so much better. My husband said I really should go back to the GI and tell him this, but I have had every test known to man it seems, uppper and lower GI, colonoscopy and something else that I cannot remember but was of course normal. I know my rhuemy is going to tell me at some point I have to stop the pred and I dread that day!! Right now I feel like a normal human, well almost! I also take methotrexate at the max dose. I do worry about
the osteoporosis, because I was already diagnosed with that prior to the pred. I agree it is an awful med, but it works wonders!
Cannynancy..I have been on the pred a good three months or more and I have a script for two more months and then I don't know if my rheumy will renew my script or not. Since I take it for RA and not actually for the belly issues. I take 10mg, and there are some days that I try not to take it, especially if I don't have to go anywhere. However, I find that I take it at least 5 out of 7 days per week.
I appreciate all of you and your input, I am sorry that you have to deal with this day in and day out.
