books i recommend for Crohn's disease

i have 2 really good books on Crohn's that might interest you all.

1) Crohn's disease: a multidisciplinary approach, published in 2010 (written for GI residents/doctors). i actually have it in PDF format if you are interested in having it, i can send it to your email (its about 7 mb). its really interesting to see the disease from your GI's eyes. i read it and i can conclude that GIs are as confused as we are. its quite reassuring in a weird way.

2) Living with Crohn's & Colitis: A Comprehensive Naturopathic Guide for Complete Digestive Wellness, published in 2010 (written by a patient and by an ND). i found this book really interesting because it showed alternatives to pharmaceuticals and how the patient dealt with her stressful life. it catered to my therapeutic approach: having a quality of life.

i wish i had the 2nd book too in PDF but alas only in hard copy for now but i really do recommend you buying it. its about $12 at amazon so its quite cheap :)

I also have a book to recommend! I actually heard about it through an interview the author did and it was posted somewhere here on HealingWell. I believe it's called something like, "Life Disrupted: Living with Chronic Illness in Your Twenties and Thirties" by Laurie Edwards. Crohn's is actually only mentioned occassionally but the book is perfect for anyone. It really hits home to the age group mentioned, but it can really apply to anyone.

The book served as a kind of therapy for me. I felt calm when I was reading this book and rested and contemplative after. You know how you occassionally read a health book that's supposed to 'help' and you have to stop reading because it's stressing you out? This is not the case with this book. It's actually got some really good humor in it as well and is very informative as well. I actually gave the book to my Mother to read and not only did she enjoy is, but she found that it shed some light on how I, the patient, feels. The book also gives you some insight into the doctors eyes. Just an overall great and quick read!
