to be Crohn's or not to be Crohn's

Im 20 years old and a carer Ive been in and out of hospital for the past month with suspected Crohn's the when first taking into hospital the doctors did an MRI scan and told me "you have Crohn's well done !!" this did not amuse me for the next two weeks whilst i was discharged they had me on a dose of oral steroids however the doctor who had originally discharged me had the dose of the steroids wrong i was on 20 mg then 30 mg then finally 40 mg but by the time i came back to clinic the steroids had not had time to work properly so i was readmitted to hospital to have a course of IV steroids i have been in 5 day now and the iv steroids have worked well they have made me feel fantastic however yesterday i went for a colonoscopy to give a definitive diagnosis of Crohn's and when they did the test they found no signs of Crohns or colitis my bowel was a very "healthy place" according to the doctor. i have now spoke to my Docotrs and they are planning to carry on treating me as a Crohn's patient my questions to everyone out there is are there any other people who you know of that have been in the same situation? could it still be Crohn's and have cleared up ? could it have been a bad case of IBS? Now the doctors are mentioning something called microscopic Crohn's Ive never heard of it is there such a thing any help would be appreciated as i am being totally left in the dark by my doctors.

I agree with getting a second opinion. Like most people with Crohn's I went through a lot of wrong diagnosis before they got it right and I saw a lot of doctor's before someone finally knew what was wrong with me. Like JavaJay said, Crohn's can occur anywhere in the digestive tract and from the inside to the outer lining. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
