H.R.T and Crohn's

After trying lots of alternative/herbal treatments for severe menopause symptons my GP started me on some H.R.T last week..I had my doubts but he says there are no contra-indications with Crohn's and the meds he presscribed . He's put me on a three month course initially and will see how things go...So far a week on i'm noticing a great reduction in my symptons ..The worst of which for me was insomnia and profuse sweating/hot flushes...I'm just wondering if any of you Ladies are taking H.R.T and how you're getting on

I took Seasonale for 3 years, which I understand is a low dose HRT. It definitely helped. I was only taking it every other day to reduce risks. But I went off it this year in my efforts to reduce the number of medications I am on. I didn't notice any difference in Crohns symptoms. I can tell you that for me, hot flashes are hell on top of everything else so you have my sympathies :)

I had a complete hysterectomy at the age of 36. I now take a synthetic estrogen pill everynight. For me at least, it was one of the best things I ever did. I will stay on the med for a few more years and then wean myself down. No issues from the med affecting my CD. Hugs!
