I am absolutely convinced that artificial sweetners are bad for us and probably affect us in many ways. It really scares the daylights out of me when I see people giving diet products to children or when pregnant women are pouring a diet soda.
I have tried products with just about every type of artificial sweetner but have always had a terrible aftertaste and nausea following them. My GI has recommended that I try the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) which does not allow sugar. Honey is the onlu acceptable sweetner allowed. I need to look into Stevia and see if that's allowed. I'm not sure how long I can live without sugar, grains or starches, so I'm not going to try it until after the Holidays.
