What happened to Viagra for Crohn's?

A few years ago there were many articles on the therapeutic potential of Viagra for Crohn's.

However, there have been no news about it for a couple of years, and I've been unable to find any clinical trials. Does anyone know what happened? I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it does seem strange that such a promising avenue of treatment suddenly vanishes "without a reason"...

Well, it's sad there isn't newer infos on that. But again, I'd say, maybe for some it's an unsufficiant immune system, maybe for some others it isn't.
But if it'll be my case I'd like something else than the blue pills.. 8-)

LOL that is funny! I forget the physiology and exactly how viagra works for ED but I know it relaxes smooth muscle - the reason why you shouldn't take it if you are taking nitrates for chest pain because you can have an unsafe drop in blood pressure.

So if your CD involves a lot of spasms of the bowel, which is smooth muscle, you would think that it might help CD, at least a little. But then so should nitrates for chest pain. That would be the cheaper way to go.
