After 20 month finally Pregnant Crohnie

Hi all

After 20 months finally pregnant but also flaring mad

I Hope this does not last long as I seen statics if you are pregnant and flaring.

I have to wait till the 10th Jan to see me Specilist Dr and Nurse.

At the moment they think this flare is due to bile salt malsorption but all the meds you are not supposed to take if your pregnant!

So not sure what there going to do!!

Anyone else flared during pregnancy?

Took bile salt meds and ok if pregnant?

I am pregnant and on Humira and Asacol not very far along but bm have been strange but I blame the pregnancy for that not CD. My gi does not want to risk taking me off the meds he says that a healthy mom makes a healthy baby and I am far from healthy with out my meds.

Conker21 and Isergodur congratulations on your pregnancies!! So excited for you both. No tips on the meds, but I am sure Stef17 or Inflamed will be along soon with some tips. Hugs!

Congratulations!

If it's the bile salts malabsorption, maybe you can get a script for cholestryamine? I'm pretty sure I took that during my pregnancy, and I've always found it helpful. Ask your GI or a pharmacist about safety during pregnancy.

Congratulation! i was tappering pred when i got pregnant and took pentasa throughout my pregnancy with no CD related probs throughout. CRP was up always at 20. I only heard recently there is an increased risk of preeclampsia with pred and i had to stay in hospital from week 34 onwards until i was induced at week 37 because of it. A year after birth all my probs started again, stress of being back at work fulltime, being tired etc.
As in the UK, i was classified high risk with th CD, i had monthly prenatal appointments, and i asked the midwife always to inlude the inflammatory markers in the blood test. Good luck!

My dr can not see me untill the 15th of January.
I had 3 differnt med presriped to me for the bile salt issue as that what they think is the concern right now not the cd but all med are not to be taken while pregnant so not sure what there going to there must be something out there?

Do you know if you can take imodium while pregnant?
