I'm 22 years old, and for the past couple weeks I had a dull pain on my lower left side (pelvis area) that has come and gone, so I didn't really think much of it.
Starting this past Monday, however, the pain came and has stuck around since. It is constant and can be sharp at times. I am also feeling nauseous at times after eating, and the only two times I had a bowel movement this week, it was diarrhea. I am also having a very hard time sleeping at night because of the pain.
I went to see my doctor on Tuesday, and had an X-ray and a urine test done. The X-ray came back fine, and my urine had white blood cells in it, which usually means there is an infection. My doctor sent my urine to be further tested, and that came out negative as well. She told me to take 600 mg of Ibuprofen for pain.
My doctor then ordered me to schedule a pelvic ultrasound, which I had done today. They told me that nothing looked bad, but that I would hear results from my doctor early next week.
I am still in pain, with no medication. Could I possibly have Crohn's disease?
This isn't going away and I am already sick of getting tests done with no results....
I have talked to a friend that has Crohn's, and she claims I am having similar symptoms to what she experienced when she found out she had Crohn's about 3 years ago. She told me I should see a GI doctor, and in the mean time to NOT take Ibuprofen, Advil, or any aspirin, as that can cause more problems and possible ulcers.
Can someone please give me some insight?
