GI recommendations - Utah

Any good GI recommendations? I live in the Orem/Provo area, but am more than willing to drive to Salt Lake if it means seeing a doctor who is competent and, above all, not a jerk :) I'm currently at Central Utah Clinic, but I'm not allowed to "switch" doctors within their practice.

please get out of CUC! I had Dr Bodily there, worst dr I have ever had, but I did like NP Biesinger there. billing also sucks there.... unfortunately Ut County is limited in GI's...

I drive up to Sandy (across the street from Alta View hospital) now and see Dr Barnett, he really is awesome and you can tell that he does actually care. my dad started seeing Dr Schmidt in that same office and he likes him.

other suggestions:
Dr Alsolaiman at CUC in AF, but he has a very heavy accent and can be hard to understand, but he does care, wait time is usually none, and staff is amazing. but you still run into billing problems. (you just have to ask to switch due to 'x' reasons, for me mine was distance when we moved to southern Ut county)

Dr Jones is in Murray at the TOSH Towers (the old Cottonwood hospital). he is young (if you watch Greys Anatomy he looks like Mark Sloan imo) he wasnt too bad.

And Dr Tadros is also great. staff is friendly and the only dr who found my sibo (had still been going to cuc at the time). She is very thorough and great to see if only for a 2nd opinion.

I would also suggest you keep in mind the distance your insurance will let you travel for coverage. When I saw Dr Tadros it wasnt technically covered under in network, but since it was the only place that offered the breath test for sibo other than the U which was also out of network, they covered it. just a thought.

I left AF CUC just after he brought Adrienne on board and moved down to Southern Ut County and started seeing Chris Biesinger. He is really friendly and great, but once I started Remicade he said he couldn't care for me anymore and would need to switch to one of the Remi Dr's at the office. So I saw Dr Bodily. Worst mistake, I had even thought about requesting to see Dr Alsolaiman again but thought it would seem bad to switch 3 dr's in there in such a short time. He would never look at labs and we would have to re do a history pretty much every time he'd walk in the door to the room. He would never give straight answers and was a jerk. One time while I was on imuran my counts got really low and the lab sent him a warning. He never bothered to look at it, and then when I had blood the next time it was even lower and when I saw him next we were talking about raising the imuran dosage and then finally looked at lab results and goes, oh wow your count is below 1, we better stop imuran asap. grrr... He let me walk around for a month with my count really low. His assistant was pretty good though.

Other experiences included: saying Remicade has failed me after 3 infusions (just finished the loading doses) because I hadn't shown any improvement. I had to basically beg to let me have one more infusion. (btw I'm now in remission because of Remicade) He always acted like I was faking my symptoms. He would bad mouth other dr's in front of me. Always changing my appointments on me because he decided he didn't want to work that late in the afternoon when my appointments were only around 1:00ish. Told me I was a hopeless case because remicade didn't work and then neither would cimzia or humira. And he would never do a physical exam at each appointment either. So many red flags with him.
