Menstruation after ileocecectomy

I finally had my ileocecectomy last Wednesday and I was fortunate enough to have it laparoscopically. I had a hard time finding a surgeon that was comfortable enough to attempt this surgery due to my enterocutaneous fistula and abscesses, but I did and it's done! HURRAY! Now I have a question for the women out there that have had this surgery. Have any of you started your period after the surgery? I am having what I believe to be a normal menstrual cycle with cramps but I am concerned because I just had a menstrual cycle one week before surgery. The symptoms of this period didn't surface until I was already home and discharged from the hospital. Otherwise I would have asked the nurse and my doctor. One other thing, I had a catheter put in for the first 2 days (first time I've had a catheter). Before surgery I had ureter stents placed and when the surgery was over both stents were pulled (first time for stents too). I don't know if all the movement and shifting of organs promoted menstrual onset but I thought I'd ask my forum friends. So please any comments are appreciated.

Congrats on surgery! :) I had mine back in July and I skipped my period the month after I had surgery. Ended up starting 2 months later and have been pretty regular ever since then. I don't think there's any correlation with the catheter and getting your period after it gets pulled out! Hope you feel better soon!
