I was wondering if anyone has found how long they need to sleep to not be exhausted upon waking etc and be able to make the day without a nap?
Or if you nap how long is it and about
how far into the day?

I need at least seven hours, preferable more. I've never been able to nap. If I am utterly exhausted I can easily fall asleep in the middle of the day but will not sleep more than 5-10 minutes.

It depends on if I'm flaring or not. In remission, I sleep about
7 hours and don't nap. When I'm flaring, I'm very tired and I can sleep 9 hours and/or nap if I have the opportunity. I wake up a lot when I'm not feeling well, so I don't get good sleep and consequently am always tired.

I'm having one of those weeks where I feel like I have narcolepsy. I slept 11 hours last night and can't seem to stay awake today

I need to sleep a lot - although it's much worse when flaring. In remission I need at least 8 hours generally, when flaring it can be 12+ hours with afternoon siestas also par for the course. I imagine some of my medications (particularly for pain and nausea/vomiting) have some affect on my sleeping habits as they can make me particularly drowsy.

I generally sleep 10-11 hours per night, even when not flaring, and still have a hard time getting up in the morning.
My brother with IBD only sleeps about
6-7 hours a night and doesn't seem to have any problems with being tired.

When I'm in remission, I can sleep as little as 3 hours a night and be fine. Usually, I need 6 - 7. When I'm flaring badly, I sleep like 11 hours, with a nap in there.

I seem to require a lot of sleep. A good 10-11 hours at night. Then I still can take a 1-2 hour nap during the day. Seems just crazy to me, but I'm tired a lot. Even with all that sleep I still feel like I have no energy. That's in remission too. I can sleep more when I'm in a bad flare.
