Unfortunately, it's only temporary but he was really cool when he signed my wad of crohnic illness slips(for days I miss school because I'm sick) & I said my Crohn's was acting up. Turns out he has Crohn's & we have a lot in common:
1) We both hate the hospitals in the area
2) we both have crohn's mainly affecting our colons
3) both allergic to Remicade
4) both flared up this February
5) both got diagnosed in the same month & year
That just added to my whole theory that season changes(where I live at least) contributes to a lot of Crohnies flare ups. Anyways, it felt SO nice to have a teacher talk about it openly(he's known as the MAN'S MAN around town) & when he said it hurts like a...'joker' it made my other classmates realize I don't make this stuff up! It hurts! Just wanted to say that brightened my day & tomorrow I'm inviting him to the CCFA convention thing in our area in a few weeks I'm sure if HE goes others might be interested to see what this Crohn's thing is all about.
Oh, on a even better note, I decided to go out of town to the state basketball game for our highschool in a few days(it's four hours away)I made sure the bus had bathrooms in it though :) OH & it does help that it's right around the corner from the Children's Hospital; I know my GI's work schedule & he happens to be the on call doc then so if things get bad, I can just see him! Win-win situation for me! My mom is making me bring like a bag of my medications(she keeps stressing the lortabs & nausea meds) since it is going to be from 5:45 A.M till 9 P.M But I'm excited to hang out with my classmates for the first time in a long time! My mother really doesn't want me to go bc I'm starting to relapse but, like I said, my GI will be right around the corner from the b-ball game so I'll play it safe!
