This is my 4 month on Entocort 6mg. According to the manufacturer, treatment should not exceed 6 months. I have to taper it off but I'm afraid of relapse. What is the best way of tapering?
Your replies are highly appreciated.

Is your doctor not telling you?
Mine had me on 9mg for 2 months then I just stopped, no problem.

No, he told me to have a slow taper. 6 mg for two days and then drop one day. This will be for 2 weeks. My concern is that when I was tapering pred, i had to follow the slowest taper ever as I used to flare up. I just wanted to explore all possible options.

In response for how to taper, here is how I was told to do it: I was supposed to reducemy amount to 6 mg for one month and then to 3 mg for a month and finally down to nothing. Later we tried to alternate daily doses between 9 mg and 6mg every other day.
I wish you the best of luck. If you start to get sick again, just remember to call your doc ASAP. I'm still trying to get off it.

Your pharmacist should be able to give you advice too. Best wishes!

Dear all, thank you very much for the advice. I like this slow taper of one month each. Hope things go on well.
