so my night sweats began 2 years ago w/o any other unusual symptoms. last week I was diagnosed w/ crohns, and my regular doctor (internist) told me the night sweats were part of crohns and that i cant have 2 diseases at the same time.

*why cant someone have 2 diff diseases at the same time? Is there some rule ? lol

**also if anyone here has night sweats because of crohns, is there anything you can do to help it? or just take meds?

One of my symptoms during my last flare was drenching night sweats. They went away when the flare ended. Do you think that perhaps you had other minor symptoms of Crohn's when you started night sweats 2 years ago?

I don't know how old you are but another possibility might be pre-menopausal symptoms common for both men and women.

My first thought was peri menopause symptoms. So I guess depending on how old you are but that can happen 10 - 15 yrs before you even go through menopause .

And as for the dr saying you can't have two diseases at the same time !! That is just Crazy talk. LOL You can have more than one disease.

Actually if you have one autoimmune disease you're more likely to develop others.

Also, I do have night sweats during flares. When everything is under control I don't have them. It is more likely that crohn's is causing the night sweats...maybe that's what he was trying to say. Maybe he doesn't think it's worth looking for another cause when you have Crohn's.

head ,face and neck mostly. drenched. i keep atowel next to the bed to put on the pillow when i get one. works for me. in alomost 30 years never found a stop for them.
