Trying to figure out average in between re-sections

cleanfreak, yeah we know why i had sepsis twice.. 1st time was a blown out strictureplasty with crap leaking for many hours. second was the same, only a blown out anastamosis with much leaking. also had septicmia once from a central line change that went horribly bad.

OnlyByHisGrace...I'm sorry you have had to go through your harships when your kids have been so young. Had my first sugery (back) when my kids were 4 and 6 years old. Had many more surgeries throughout their childhood and today watched my youngest graduate from college with a BA in Nursing. I really think that my health had so much to do with her compassion. You never know how the man upstairs works:)  Hopefully your children will be young enough not to remember your sugery. If you think about it your really having surgey to be a better Mom in the long run. It's a sacrafice you should be comended for:) hugz

I always assumed that because the time between my surgeries decreased, that it was the norm, but apparently that's not the case.  Apparently like flares and symptoms, time between surgeries is random and differs from person to person.

First resection 1972, second 1997, third 2006, and am probably looking at another in the next year due to stricture in small bowel.  Ain't life grand!!  But considering 40 years of dealing with disease, It could have been worse. 

First, only and hopefully the last was in 1991 for me.
