Abscess or mucous??

Hi!! Plently of detail here, so apologies in advance :)

In the last week I've been having what initially looked like excessive amounts of very yellow mucous. I presumed it was that just mucous. But then I started to have well leakage of it without even passing a motion and it got more watery like consistency. This has been coming & going since, some days I have it & others I don't. I also have a throbbing pain in my back passage & I have a fissure that had been bleeding. I'm generally unwell at the moment & am spiking temps & have flarey type symptoms.

What I'm wondering is from anyone who has had an abscess in the rectal area, what were the symptoms? And how do you know it's 'just mucous'? I'm going to my dr in a few days anway to get it checked out.

I agree with Sammies. My doctor always says to call with a fever over 102 or shaking chills. Fevers in addition to the other symptoms you mentioned warrants a call right away. You don't want to mess around if you have an abscess. Good luck!
