Supraprep and my first colonoscopy tomorrow......

So i did my first dose of supraprep. Not so good. Not so bad. Either way no fun.

I am scheduled tomorrow at 10:30am and must arrive by 9:30 am.

My first supraprep was supposed to be at 5pm.....but i started at 5:45.....so my next will be at about 10pm tonight.

I noticed others had their doses more spread out than me. Not sure why i have to do 2 in one night and then wait so long prior to my procdure.

Either way, the drink is kinda gross. Iam a sipper, not a gulper. I also nibble and chew my food and am not one to wolf things down. It took me about a half hour to down the first dose. My stomach was grumbling within 15 minutes and i had my first BM prior to finishing the first dose.

I have been earting lightly mostly bc of chronic D so at this point its like a faucet out my butt. I dont know how Ill do w the second dose. Its been 2 1/2 hours and chicken broth plus a heat pack on my stomach helps. I have experienced abdominal pain and cramping due to nit having much in my stomach in the firat place. I should have been on chicken borth all day, but i just sipped iced tea, coke. And water. A hot summer day, its hard to do soup, but not now. Its soup and tea for me.

One thing is for sure is that i had a strog aversion to lemon limegatorade
Yuck! Couldnt handle it after the first does.

Oh and BTW. Also have my period. It came 10 days early. Andtpday is day two....lotof bleeding and water loss.

Trust me when i say im actually looking forward to tomorrow bc then i will put under and this whole thing will be over.

I am currently undiagnosed....which is why im getting the colonoscopy. The docs though i had soe,thing bacterial....but all tests showed up negative for parasites or c diff.q. But very urgent and frequent need for BMs. Choric diahhrea for 1 momth......my poo was green! And now im anemic bc of all. Of it.....fatigue, dizziness, no energy, malaise.....almost worse than having to go all the time bc its like i cant take care of myself. I feel like i can drop w.in a moemtns notice. Iron, albumin, hemo and hct are low, but so is my wbc. Go figure. Missed 3 weeks of work due to being in hospital and seeing a bazillion docs who can only guess whats wrong. Hoping for some relief tmorrow

Thanks! Well the 2nd dose of supraprep did me in! I took it and had a had time drinking it inbig gulps. So i alternated sips between water and orange gatorade. Took me aboutan hour to finish.....i started around 10:30. Ended around 11:30pm. From 12 am - 8am i was vomiting. I called my GI at 4am to tell him ihad been vomiting since the 2nd dose. He asked if it was clear fluids, I said yes. He told me it was ok and he would see me at 9:30am and that it would stop soon. Well it didnt.

I drgged myself with my husband to the procedure witha throw up bowl in hand. I told my nurse i wasnt well and i was vomiting all morning. Mshe asked me if i had drank anything within the last 2 hours.....i said yes. Apparently i was supposed to drink anything 2 hours prior to procdure....never told. Nurse also said drinking water when your so nauseaus can make you throw up more. Geez....that woulda been nice to know at 4am when i called my GI crying.

Anyways. Lesson learned.

Scope was done and all is well with my colon. Soooo. Good news i guess is that my colon is healthy.l..bad news is im back to being undiagnosed.

Nope....no endoscopy. I thought it was weird that they didnt just do both at the same time. I will schedule a follow up with my GI later this week. My first BM after the procedure was D....so im not sure if thats normal or if the D will just continue as it did before. :(. I guess i have to wait and see. And since ive already given tons of TMI already.....the weird thing when i had D for so long is that my stool color changed from brown to green. Now they are back in the brown zone after almost 3 weeks of green. Blech

I got super sick at an outdoor event in PA in May. Outta no where....headache, dizziness, confusion, with an urgent need to vomit and use the bathroom at the same time. It was a super hot day....i didnt eat or drinkmuchbc they only had port o potties at this event. But when i got sick, you betcha i used them. I wound up being treated by paramedics who figured it was dehydration. I never vomitted, but i did have 3 bouts of D in an hour or so. The headaches were so bad, couldnt look at the sky, or deal with bright light. i couldnt walk...i thought i was going to pass out. They carted me back to my car with a shirt over my head. I went back to our rental that night and slept in darkness. My husband spoon fed me some rice and soup. I slept between 4pm - 7 am the next day. Over the next 2 weeks, my stomach wasnt the same. I would have D every morning, and then twice a day, and then every time I ate....i would be running tothe bathroom within 20 minutes. I wasnt getting better.....i was progressively gettng worse.

I saw my primary who ordered a lot of blood work to test for food allergies and whatnot. I went to get blood taken and after the 4th vile i passed out in the chair and was sent to the ER. They told me my RBC and electrolytes were low....found traces of bacteria in my urine, and gave me ciproflaxin 500mg 2xs a day. The 4 days...bed ridden. Could nottake care of myself. Bed to bathroom. My family came over and babysat me. I knew something was wrong cause the D was now worse, and green, and more often. Went to Doc who called 911 while i was there. Practically passed out in her chair. Legs shaking....heart racing.

Got admitted for two days....all sorts of tests on my heart and brain....but none on my tummy! They tested stool and urine for bacteria.....negative results. rBC still low And WBC low. They sent me home with prilosec and bentyl....put me on a gluten free diet and said i probably had IBS.

Still had green stoolat this point. And D was still real bad and i was still dizzy, fatigued, weak, nauseus and faint. Went to GI....sheduled my colonoscopy. He took me off prilosec amd bentyl. Here i am a month and a half later....but now my stool is back to brown....thank goodness.

I did seek the opinion of a homeopathic doctor. She put me on super priobiotics 3 xs a day, vitamin A and Iron supplements. They seem to be helpng....i hope.

I will see my GI for a follow up on 7/16. Fingers crossed.
