Which one is the best in terms of side effects and efficacy?

Basically equal in efficacy, but 6MP would appear to be the slightly better tolerated drug.
Scroll down a little ways:

My GI told me that Azathioprine breaks down into 6MP and something else and the something else may be beneficial. So he prefers to prescribe Azathioprine over 6MP.

thank you very, very much! I am really scared... but, unfortunately, there is no other way, except TNF inhibitors... Entocort has put me in remission, but is beginning to cause bone loss. i hate this disease!

Hopefully Aza or 6MP will work - you've got an advantage by already being in remission. Takes 2-3 months before they start working, however, so you should probably stay on the Entocort until then. Good luck.
(And yeah, I'm not too fond of this disease... :-/)
