Stricture stretching - update....hello hospital

Well after much excitement that the procedure worked, I was in so much pain Wednesday night I thought for sure something was wrong. Sure enough by Thursday I was doubled over in pain unable to walk, think clearly or even speak without wailing in pain.

I was trying to be the super hero mom that still wanted to follow through on this weekend camping trip so we headed from Ottawa into NY state.....MISTAKE.

Thinking it is a perf, They admitted me at 21:00 and did blood, morphine, X-rays and started pumping the antibiotics ..... Three different kinds.

So here I sit at 01:54 listening to the moaner next to me and I can't sleep. They are going to transfer me to Ottawa General today to be with my own GI and the surgeon he recommends.

Could be in the hosp for up to 7 days even if I don't have surgery........

I know I shouldn't complain. It's my first hospitalization with this darn disease and I know it won't be my last. The funny thing is, the perf isn't where he stretched the structure it's on the other side......

Sorry, just feeling a little sorry for myself tonight.....maybe I need more morphine and gravol......I definitely know I need my husband and daughter!!!!!

Maybe you should complain. At least on here. I always feel the same way when I'm dealing with some failing of my body; that I should be stronger and not let it get me down. I always feel I have to just face it head on without any despair or tears. And yes we need that fight in us but on here let us be able to express our fears and vulnerablities without shame. You are strong and you will deal with this and move on. But let yourself feel your emotions, all of them. Then use your beautiful frontal cortex to sift through the emotion with rational thoughts and get through this experience.

Oh I wish I could take some of your need to NOT complain away.  Feel free to vent here.  I can completely understand.  I have a camping trip scheduled for Labor Day weekend and I am thinking it might not be a good time to be in the woods (even with bathrooms nearby). 

I hope you have as much long term relief from the treatment of your perforation as I am having form mine (surgery 1990!)

Where in NY were you camping or headed to camp?  I hope you were able to at least enjoy some beauty of the forests.
