Hi everyone,
I feel like I've just been complaining a lot lately. I apologize. I do have so many things to be grateful for. I read some of your posts and my heart breaks for you. I am amazed by the difficult things that you are able to push through.
Well, I think I've spent the majority of the month in the hospital. To recap: I was diagnosed with Crohn's two years ago, about
6 months after I got c. diff. from too many antibiotics. It took 10 months of prednisone to get under control with Imuran and Asacol. In the middle of it I got salmonella and was hospitalized for the first time in my life for about
5 days.
In December I got married. From February to April I was hospitalized about
6 times with c. diff. twice, a flare, a perianal abscess, and a rectovaginal fistula. Then we decided to start me on Remicade, but I was going to stay on the Imuran and the Asacol until later in the year once we got to the 4th infusion since I was moving to another state and we wanted me to stay stable.
But the imuran caused pancreatitis, and I was hospitalized for it in May and July. Then in August, after the move, I've spent most of the month in and out of the hospital because they couldn't get the lipase levels (the pancreatitis levels) down. Even with this feeding tube that they gave me.
Well, the good news is that my lipase levels are staying down. Hurray! But on Sunday (my birthday) I was back in the ER with bloody D. Turned out to be c. diff. But this time the Flagyl has me so nauseated that I spent all evening throwing up every time I tried to take the blasted pill. The D got worse, and every time I went to the bathroom I was bleeding and cramping while throwing up into a bowl. So here I am again in the hospital. I think this makes 12 ER visits and 10 hospitalizations this year.
Sorry, just needed to whine. Again.
