If you need to vent in more detail, feel free! We all have at one time or another. Since this is fairly new for me (January), I still find myself wanting to scream and cry over the smallest things. This weekend, for example, my husband and I are going to a gamer convention and I have had the hardest time figuring out what I will be able to eat, and since my energy is low we needed to rent a wheelchair, but could only afford one that is manually pushed, so my poor husband has to push me around all weekend. He thinks he'll be fine doing it, but I still feel bad and awkward. I should be looking forward to this weekend, but it almost makes me want to cry, simply because I won't have the freedom I did in previous years.
My point is, we all need to vent, and no matter how stupid or little you may think an issue is, if it makes you need to vent, bring it on!

Go ahead and vent! Seriously. I've done that on here a few times in the past few weeks. This is not a fun condition at all. We're all rooting for you!

@mywowgirl - did you call the convention and ask if they provide wheelchairs or are you renting from a company? I'd be surprised if they didn't provide one for you for free; I've always been able to get one when I've needed to.

@scifigal - I had a hard time finding any information on who to call at the convention center. So, we just rented one from a local medical supply place. It was a lot cheaper than we thought it would be! It was $35 for two weeks, or $55 for a month. Although, that was a manual chair, not electric, and my poor husband had to wheel me around ALL weekend. Poor guys back is all sorts of sore and stiff now. Next year (if we have to wheel chair me again), I'm going to look at an electric one. We went to a restaurant one night, and my loving, great, fantastic, selfless husband pushed me two blocks down and three blocks up from the convention center. The three blocks up were UP HILL! I love that man!! smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin Also, are you a gamer? Or just scifi fan? I am a scifi fan, myself. You Trekkie, Star Wars fan, Babylonian, Whovian, or are you like me, and like them all?

Wow, what a great husband! That's so neat that he was willing to do all of that and give you support. He deserves an extra big hug for that! :) I'm not a gamer, just a scifi fan. Lol, I made that username a looong time ago in high school, and now I just use it when I don't want to have a username with my real name in it. Even I don't mind sharing it in my blog now, but when I first joined the forum I wasn't entirely certain what to expect. I love Star Wars and Star Trek both (I know, you're not supposed to, but I just can't help it!). I also really like Stargate. Since I graduated and started teaching a few years ago, though, I haven't had nearly as much time as I'd like to watch them or read books anymore. Being sick this year has made me slow down a bit, so it's been nice to get back in to reading a bit. :)

VENT!! That's why I joined this forum! haha I've only had Crohn's for 5 years and here's what I hate:

- My husband thinks that my medicine should "cure" me, when I've tried to explain that it might help, but there's no cure. (have had D everyday since diagnosed, EVERYDAY!)
- My former boss once told me that she thinks I have Diarrhea (D) b/c I drink so much water. (so now you're an expert on Crohn's disease?)
- I hate that I can't just go to an outdoor concert, on a boat or anywhere without checking to see if they have a nice bathroom first!
- I miss eating popcorn at the movies :/
- Why are most of the medications for Crohn's so expensive?!
- I fall asleep on the couch watching tv most nights by 9pm.

One thing I kind of like? The fact that my time in the bathroom actually is "me time" and I've finished whole books in there over time. Gotta stay positive!
