I know there have been previous posts regarding the use of Humira, but they seem to be a bit outdated.

Just returned from my Dr, and will start on Humira shortly.

I've been on Apriso since I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 02/2012. I've had very good results (no pain or flare ups) until about one month ago when I started having mild/moderate abdominal pain. Dr said it appears the Apriso is no longer effective and it's time to start another course of treatment. He put me on steroids to control this flare up, and Humira.

Looking for info/side effects/advice from others who are also on Humira.

Hey there..I haven't been put on Humira yet so I am sorry I can't help you. Let me know how you are doing and what side effects you have if any. I was just taken off of Imuran as I had a reaction twice from that so my dr and I will be discussing a new form of treatment at my next appt wink

I'm on Humira and it works well
(allergic to remicade)
I just don't like taking a shot every week..specially the Humira pen.
I prefer the injection
there is chance of side effects but every medication has that.

Hey! I've been on humira since march and I've seen huge improvements! There's the occasional side effects but I don't know whether it's from humira or the other medication I am on. I have noticed a Thinning of my hair and the day of my injection usually is a bad day for me but other than that I feel good! :) I take the injection once a week!

I have been taking Humira for almost 2 yrs and its the only rx that works for me and keeps my crohns in remission. The injection pens are not a big deal in comparison to being symptomatic!! I have not had any side effects. Humira is for those with mod-severe crohns that isn't being controlled by other medications like 6-MP or Remicade.
