Hello, everybody! My days of having to get poked a million times before getting an IV successfully in are over!
At least, that's the plan. I got the port surgery yesterday. No complications during it, and it's not as sore as I thought it would be. It was placed on my shoulder, just above the collarbone. With the port I got a rubber bracelet (kind of like the live strong bracelets) to wear that lets medical professionals know I have it, an identification card for my wallet that does the same thing, and a key chain that does as well.
Unfortunately, I also got my new blood work done (now that I'm off the Prednisone), and my CRP numbers went back up with in days of me getting off of the Pred. So, no remission for me.
So, now we will try Remicade again. My teacher (who is a pharmaceutical engineer that worked on Remicade, and some other CD treatments. Trying that again is one of the reasons I got the port. Wish me luck!
