My stomach has been killing me lately - lots of pain and cramping. I can't tell if taking pain meds is just making the situation worse after they wear off. Last night I didn't take anything, and I was in a lot of pain all night, but had been taking meds pretty consistently for the last 2 weeks or so. I didn't feel any "withdrawal" symptoms, so I don't think that is the case. My stomach was just really sore. Do you think this could be a result of taking the pain meds, or just my Crohn's? I am wondering if I should tough it out for a few days without medication to see if the pain subsides on its own.

It really depends on the medication you are on. I am on a few different things that you can see in my signature. I ended up talking to my pharmacist cause i was hitting an aweful point and couldnt tell if it was crohns related or side effects from the pills.
I ended up keeping a mini journal for a few days to narrow down when the pain was to see if it co insided with any of the times i took certain pills. At the end of the day for me I found out it was the flagyl side effects and was able to narrow down what was going on and fix it. It takes time , but worth it to feel a bit better!
Best of luck and hope you can start feeling better.

the only crohns med I am on is budesonide ec. The rest of the meds are for MS, been on them for 15 years. This pain started on Monday and is so bad at times it takes my breath away. Oh yeah I am on lethovthyroine b/c I had thyroid cancer and calicum b/c my parathyroids died during surgery.

Thanks for your replies. I think the pain medication constipates me a bit, which I actually like because it slows everything down and I feel like the constant contractions and food passing is what's very uncomfortable. But I am wondering if I am just causing more damage by constipating myself. I mean, I still GO, just not as much. Ugh, I just want to get into remission!
