Chrissy77, I think sometimes the gut issues that come with Crohn's can be really subtle and hard to tease out of your normal bowel fluctuations, such as menstrual cramps, mild indigestion from overeating, etc. You can talk to your rheumy about doing an MRI of your lower spine, which might show more than the x-ray of the SI joints. I had a lot of imaging studies done of my pelvis and spine and the only thing that showed up was some arthritic changes at S5/L1. I never have pain there, but I do have a chronic issue with my SI. I think it's a mechanical problem at this point and not an inflammatory one, and the "cure" is to not get my cardio from running, LOL, plus keep up with my core strengthening work and stretching.
