hello, is it normal that after cimzia injections ( in my upper legs) the skin is red and burning ?
I already did got it 3 times and each time my skin is so red and hot, like burning and after a week it dissapears little by little ? I'm wondering if I'm not allergic to the stuff.

I doubt it is an allergy. I take my 2 shots in the belly, I leave the Cimzia out for a full 30 minutes. The injections don't get red or burn as you describe. 15 minutes I get red a big lump burn and it hurts for awhile. Actually, I'm waiting for UPS now to deliver my Cimzia today (overdue) It's being flown in.

It's hard to say from the Cimzia web site if this is common. I'd recommend checking with your pharmacist and/or dr to find out. After I inject, the injection site is a little red and stings (like hydrogen peroxide on a wound), and then I'll have a lump for a day or two that slowly goes down.

How is the Cimzia going for you now? I am on 6mp now and my dr has said he may put me on the Cimzia b/c my flare is not getting better. After reading about it, I'm a little scared! Not only from the side effects, but also because I've heard it is really expensive.

It is now 1 week ago that I'd had my last cimzia. The rash and burning was a bit less, this time. But my skin is still coloured, I can mark the place where the stuff was. The nex time I'll go to my doctor 2 days after the cimzia , so that he can see the rash. I really hope that I'm not allergic to it, because crohns is really better and I don't have kramps anymore. Remicade didn't work for me, after 8 years, anymore. I hope that things work out for you the berst way they can !

Hi Belgiangirl, I have been off and on Cimzia for several years and everytime I give myself the injection, I will have a little redness but no rash. I suggest you call your GI and explain what happened during your last injection. SHe may suggest you take benadryl before your next shot.

Cimzia has been a lifesaver for me. I have been able to take it with very few minor side effects.
