does anyone get small painful sores on a their finger joints?

occassionally i get these small, raised and very painfull sore spots on finger joints.  i can feel it raised up, it is red and it hurts.  they go away in about a week.  maytimes these come after having mouth sores, which i had last week but got better in the past few days.  could these be related to the active disease that i have?  i have had these come and go the past 5 years, but have never put these together with my CD.  thoughts?

I got this sore. It looked like a pimple but would not pop. It was on a finger joint. I got it right after I started Humira. Weird thing is my mom gets them and I had never had one till the very next day after doing Humira. I was like a little mound of red with a tiny spot in the center but you could not pop it. Is this what you describe?

exactly what i get from time to time. However, I am not on humira, yet. but i have gotten these off and on over the past 4 years which happens to be the time frame of my worse struggles with crohn's.

these things hurt but go away in a few days. i plan to bring this up to my GI when he returns my call tomorrow or tonight.

I like to suggest you try to photograph the bumps if you can. That way you can at least show him something that might give him a clue. I'm not shy I have done this before because timing is usually that the problem has healed by the time I get to see the GI. A photograph is worth a thousand words.

Hi there,
Sorry to hear you have these painful bumps as well. I have had Crohn's for over 12 years now (only diagnosed 2 yrs ago) and I also get those painful bumps on top of my tendons mostly. During my last hospitalization, my GI team said they are called
Erythema Nodosum. He said they are brought on by the whole inflammation of my body. I get large ones on my shin area of my legs as well as the top of my hands and inside of my wrists. I find when I am flaring they are too :( As far as I know there is no help for them since they are brought on by the Crohn's. Hopefully having a name for this helps you all!!!
