Ensure large bottle of High Protein - yuck!

My husband was helping by picking up some thigns for me and bought Ensure with High Protein.  It also came in these giant bottles I had never seen before.  Well, I don't know if it is the High Protein version (hubby wanted me to have it as I have not bee eating meat and he was worried) or if they reformulated....but yuck blech pitooie.  I have always liked the milk chocolate flavor in the regular version.

So....if you need Ensure and don't like the taste...I recommend trying a different version.  Going to see if my Dad will like this stuff as it was quite expensive.

Maybe you can return the unopened bottles. I hate all of that ensure stuff...too sugary for me, and I love chocolate. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

There has to be something you could cut it with or flavor it with. Chocolate syrup or some fruit flavor. Vanilla or even root beer syrup.
for the open container.
Hopping you find something that works for your taste.

I never had the high protein version but have taken a couple Ensure over the last couple weeks. It's calories Plus. Sometimes I tolerate it, other times I feel like chucking. I seen the high protein one and I believe it had less calories in it, so haven't tried it yet? They usually come in a pack of 6, if the pack has been broken, it's unlikely they will take back the rest.
Someone gave me a case of the supplement a couple years ago, in vanilla. I could not tolerate it, so donated it to a worthy cause. Most hospitals will also take them if they haven't been opened.

High protein versions of most things are just gross. I got the Odowalla High Protein and the Naked Extra Protein ones and thought they looked delicious. I mean, they had tropical fruits and stuff. Yuck. Nope. Gross. Too gritty/chalky. I thought shaking it more would help. Wrong. So, I have since steered clear of anything that says that!

Have you tried like.... almond butter or almond milk? I tolerate it so well and it definitely helps me get in some protein throughout the day.

Hey Question Everything ... I thought about "cutting it" with ice cream!
dorri - This stuff did not come in the usual 6 pack. They are bigger almost two-fer bottles. I usually get the 6pack. If my Dad won't take them, I will see if my MIL will take them.
jk - where were you in my grocery store!! I have learned the high protein thing the hard way too. I tried almond milk and not on my taste list. I guess I will stick with my limited amount of PB to get my protein.

Have you tried the Vanilla? It's actually pretty good - I was skeptical; however, I liked it. The chocolate one is really good, too! I get the Silk brand...but, I have tried the plain Almond Breeze and it was good (and out 20 cents cheaper - not much, but still). The plain of silk is good, too.... Either way, it's much lighter than milk and tolerable.
PB is good, of course, too! (and 'safe')
Have you tried Almond butter? Apparently it is much better for you than (according to my health-nut of a friend) and it tastes good, too. I am seemingly on an almond-kick...but, it just sort of happened that way - I'm not obsessed ;)

I'm chiming in on the Almond Milk conversation. The Almond milk tastes different according to the brand and flavoring, so try some different kinds. Almond Breeze has unsweetened, original and vanilla flavored and I think the Silk brand also has three flavors. I personally like the original Almond Breeze and I don't like the Silk brand, but it is just individual taste. I was drinking Lactaid for a long time, but I find that for whatever reason, I do better with the Almond milk. I don't drink it straight, but have it in cereal or smoothies.....may be nice for you to make a peanut butter smoothie, as that would give you lots of protein. I think I'm only mildly lactose intolerant...I can eat yogurt and cheese in moderate quantities, but struggle more with milk and ice cream.
