Positive Ana 1:160/Humira

I have been on Humira for 5 years now. It has worked great for me. However I am now experiencing incredible joint pain all over. Especially in my knees, hands, and elbows. My GI ordered some blood test and my ANA came back 1:160 speckled pattern. He seemed to dismiss it. I am also experiencing extreme fatigue, headaches, nausea and feeling very cold in my hands and feet. My CRP is normal so no inflammation present. Is it time to see a rheumatologist? Could this be the beginning of another autoimmune disease?

I have a positive ana and they said its a sign of inflamation, or another type of disease but till it flares they have no clue what it is. let me I would be interested wht they tell you. I wonder if people with chrons have a positive ana

I experienced joint pain and fatigue while on humira. No one checked my ANA. We stopped humira and the pain and fatigue went away. I had a more severe reaction to remicade and did have high ANA numbers for a while, but again it went away after stopping it.

Thanks for everyones feedback. Today I was diagnosed with drug induced Lupus syndrome brought on by the Humira. Its what i suspected was going on and sure enough is. It has been a miserable few months. My physician did say he did not believe the ANA results were related to the lupus like symptoms but taht only with time and stopping Humira will we know.

I had Remicade induced Lupus.  Major joint pain.  I discontinued the remicade and had to increase prednisone and also took MTX that is the only thing that helped.  After one year my ANA was normal again.  It was then that I started Humira and have been fine for 5 years (touch wood saying that).
