Following the 2nd replacement of my 2 perianal setons last week, I am now experiencing total absolute soreness from where my seton strings are rubbing the surrounding skin. I asked my surgeon for longer strings so I could be more active, as before any activity made the seton area swell and the setons 'cut -in' also causing soreness & bleeding. However, these new 'longer' strings are also causing their own problems.
Can anyone advise how to prevent the seton string from rubbing/chaffing the surrounding area ? I normally wear a dressing pad to collect any discharge and have found this the most effective & clean way of keeping dry. anybody else got a different method ?
Help please as this is making me very miserable. !!
